Difference Applications Between Shaker And Mixer

2023-09-18

A shaker, also known as a shaker, is a laboratory instrument used to symmetrically shake or shake cultures, liquids, or solutions on a horizontal platform. A shaking table is usually composed of an electric motor, a shaking table, a fixture, a controller, and other components. The vibration frequency and amplitude can be controlled by adjusting the parameters on the controller.

A mixer, also known as a stirrer, is a device used for mixing and stirring liquids or solutions. The mixer is usually composed of a motor, a stirring rod, and a mixing container. The motor drives the stirring rod to rotate in the mixing container, causing forced convection and shear force to occur in the liquid, thereby achieving the mixing and uniform stirring of the liquid.

Application of Shaker

1. Cell culture:

A shaking table can provide suitable conditions, such as temperature, CO2 concentration, and humidity, for cultivating cells and cell tissues. The vibration function of the shaking table can simulate the environment of cells in the body, promoting cell growth and metabolism.

2. Determination of solubility:

A shaking table can be used for solubility measurement, which accelerates the dissolution of solutes in the solvent by fully contacting and shaking the solvent with the sample, thereby determining solubility.

3. DNA extraction:

The shaker can be used for cell fragmentation and DNA extraction operations, assisting in the complete dissolution and release of DNA in the sample through vibration and mixing.

Application of Mixer

1. Chemical reaction mixing:

A mixer can be used to evenly mix different reagents, promote contact between reactants and reaction rate, and thus achieve chemical reactions.

2. Drug dissolution:

Mixers can be used to dissolve solid drugs or additives into liquids to prepare drug solutions or prepare liquid drugs.

3. Food processing:

Mixers are commonly used in the food processing industry, such as flour mixing and sauce mixing, to ensure the uniformity of food quality and taste.

4. Cosmetic preparation:

The mixer can be used to mix cosmetics raw materials, such as lotion, powder and grease, to prepare various cosmetics products.
